8月20日から25日にかけて中国・上海で開催された、Dota 2世界最大級の国際大会「The International 2019」が幕を閉じ、e-sportsチーム「OG」が２年連続優勝という快挙を成し遂げました。

「OG」はGrand Finalにて強豪「Team Liquid」を3-1で下して世界一の座を勝ち取り、The Internationalシリーズ初の2連覇を達成し、優勝賞金約1,561万ドルを獲得しています。

そして、The International 2019の開催中にESL Dota 2の公式Twitterにて、来年のThe International 2020の開催地が発表されました。

スウェーデン・ストックホルムでの開催は、ドイツ・ケルンで開催された1度目のThe Internationalに続く、二度目のヨーロッパでの開催となります。
